I have shared many times recently about how I have been
poorly with a mental health problem. I have been writing down lots of ideas of
things for me to do to help me stay calm and to help with my anxiety, weight
gain panics and self confidence. I can finally say that I am better but the everyday
anxiety will always be there so, for me, it is so important for me to have
things that I can do to help myself.
- -Take a walk. My husband now knows that most
evenings I will go for a walk. I love to just put on my headphones, take a walk
along the river, in the meadows or in the forest and just breath in nature.
- -Gather flowers to make flower crowns or to put
in glass bottles around the house. I love to go out with my basket with the
girls and we find flowers to bring home with us. Even though it is lovely to
have flowers in the house, I love the process of collecting them and that is
the part that calms me.
- -Write. I write lots of things down whether that
is how I am feeling, plans for adventures, things I want to buy or little stories.
I love to sit under at tree or at my writing bureau and the process is such a
wonderful experience. Anything that is muddled in my head, I write down and
then I either read it to my husband or just keep it in my notebooks.
- -Do yoga. I am very new to this but it has
already really helped me. Putting down my phone, putting away my laptop and just
concentrating on myself and my body for a while. Focusing on breathing and
moving.
- -See my therapist. I have the most wonderful therapist.
She encourages, supports and just lifts me up. We alternate between hypnotherapy
and talking sessions. I love the hypnotherapy sessions so much and I always
look forward to my next session! I feel that having a therapist is so important.
I honestly feel like mine is a beautiful Angel in my life that just wants the
very best for me. If you're struggling and could use to talk with a mental health professional, thrivetalk.com can help you find a therapist who can help.
- -Spend time with people you love. I love being
with my family and being surrounded by those that love me for me. Those that
will never judge me and those wonderful people in my life who allow me to be
exactly who I am.
I hope you find some of these tips useful and, if you are
suffering from anxiety, you may be able to take some of these ideas and help
yourself also!

I am so glad you have such resources within yourself, with your family, and with your therapist, to hold you in healing. Its inspiring that you share about it. I wish you all the best of serenity, hope, and happiness xx
